If you are considering purchasing tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, let me start by saying this: we thought the party was well worth the extra cost!
From short ride waits and endless candy to special entertainment and the incredible atmosphere after dark, we were able to experience so much between 4:00 p.m. and midnight. Here are a few tips that helped us make the most of our party night.
Arrive Early
Guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 p.m., even though the official party does not start until 7:00 p.m.
We arrived at the entrance around 3:00 p.m. so we could get in line early. Disney actually allowed us to enter a few minutes before 4:00, giving us a little head start on the evening.
Once you scan your party ticket, you will receive a special wristband identifying you as a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guest. Be sure to keep it on and visible throughout the night.
Pick Up Your Trick-or-Treat Bag
After entering the park, party guests are directed from Main Street, U.S.A. through a special side pathway toward Tomorrowland Terrace. This is where you will receive your complimentary trick-or-treat bag.
From there, we were ushered into Tomorrowland and were free to explore any land, attraction or party activity.
Budget the Magic Tip: The complimentary bags are fairly small. If collecting candy is high on your list, bring a larger tote or backpack to hold everything. Disney keeps the candy flowing, and Cast Members gave us generous scoops at each location! Make a second round if you wish! M & M’s is the official sponsor this year, and I can testify they gave some yummy sweet treats, but lots and lots of chocolate.
Take Advantage of the Early Hours
We started our evening with TRON Lightcycle / Run, which had only a 10-minute wait. From there, we rode everything we wanted with little to no wait. Many attractions were practically walk-ons!
Think about how long the lines can normally be for attractions such as:
- TRON Lightcycle / Run
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Jungle Cruise
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Being able to experience so many popular attractions without spending the entire evening waiting in line added tremendous value to our party ticket.
Remember, you can enter at 4:00 p.m., giving you three bonus hours inside Magic Kingdom before the official party begins. And yes, you can ride until the park closes at midnight. If rides are important to your family, do not waste those early hours and get a jump start on the magic!
Watch the Second Parade
Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is presented twice during the party. We skipped the earlier 8:15 p.m. parade and watched the 11:15 p.m. parade instead.
The second parade had a noticeably lighter crowd, was more spectacular with the lighting, and we did not have to spend a long time holding our spot.
What did we do during the first parade? We rode rides, of course!
While many guests were watching the 8:15 parade, we walked onto Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad—which, by the way, is smoother and better than ever!
If your children can stay awake, saving the parade for later can be one of the best strategies of the entire night.
Know What Matters Most to Your Family
There is simply too much happening during the party to do everything. Before you arrive, decide what matters most to your group:
- Riding attractions with shorter waits
- Trick-or-treating
- Meeting rare characters
- Watching the parade and stage shows
- Seeing Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
- Attending dance parties
- Trying party-exclusive treats
- Shopping for Halloween merchandise
You will enjoy the night much more if you choose your priorities instead of trying to squeeze in every single activity.
Extra Bonus Tip: Although, the rest of the park closes at midnight, Main Street U. S. A. stays open until 1 am, so you can wait to get that shopping done at the end of the night. All guest have to be officially out of the front of the park by 1:30 am. How do we know? Of course, we stayed, but buses and the monorail only run 1 hour after the official midnight party end. We were fortunate enough to be staying at a resort that had water transportation that ran passed the official 1 hour time for the monorail and buses.
Trick-or-Treat Throughout the Park
Trick-or-treat locations can be found throughout the different lands. Look for the inflatable treat markers or check your party map to find each location.
The lines may initially appear long, but they usually move quickly. Disney kept the candy flowing throughout the night, and we received plenty at every stop.
You may also want to wait until later in the evening to do most of your trick-or-treating. Lines can become shorter as families begin leaving the park.
Save Time for the Halloween Atmosphere
The atmosphere alone makes Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party special.
Once the sun goes down, Magic Kingdom completely transforms. Halloween lighting and projections cover the buildings, spooky music fills the park and special characters and ghostly entertainers appear throughout the different lands.
You may encounter characters you do not usually see during a regular park day, along with Halloween dance parties, stage shows and other entertainment. Even simply walking through the park feels like part of the experience.
Do not become so focused on checking things off your list that you forget to slow down and enjoy the details.
Budget the Magic Tip: If you plan on wearing costumes to the party, Disney does have costume guidelines for party guests, so be sure to visit the official Disney Parks website for the latest costume rules and event details before your trip.
Party Treats to Try
The 2026 party menu includes plenty of sweet and savory options. A few that sound especially worth adding to your list are:
- Pumpkin Patch Mini Churros: Mini churros rolled in orange sugar and served with pumpkin-cheesecake dip.
- Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts: Apple-cider-sugar doughnuts drizzled with caramel sauce.
- Beignets from Beyond: Powdered-sugar beignets served with chocolate cookie pieces and cookies-and-cream cheese icing.
- Ursula Cone: Wild berry soft-serve with candy coral and citrus cotton candy in a black vanilla cone.
- Mickey-Shaped Cheesecake: Pumpkin cheesecake with a graham-cracker crust and whipped pumpkin ganache.
- Oogie Boogie Slushy: Frozen apple cider topped with cinnamon whipped cream and sour gummy candy.
- Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine: Waffle fries topped with cheese curds and Cajun crawfish-andouille sausage gravy. As Louisiana girls, this one certainly caught our attention!

Budget the Magic Tip: Mobile order your food when available. Party time goes quickly, and you do not want to spend too much of it standing in a food line. We placed our order towards the end of the night and was able to walk right up and pick it up!
Is the Party Ticket Worth It?
For us, yes! But we are some pretty avid Disney goers, so we take in what we can when we can!
The ability to enter at 4:00 p.m. and enjoy Magic Kingdom until midnight gave us up to eight hours in the park. We rode the attractions we wanted, collected plenty of candy, enjoyed the Halloween atmosphere and watched the later parade with a lighter crowd. The fireworks were beautiful too!
If your priority is riding popular attractions with shorter waits while enjoying exclusive Halloween entertainment, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can be worth the additional ticket price.
If you are visiting Disney not only for the Halloween party, but to experience the other parks as well, use your Halloween party day as a rest day to sleep in late, eat a good meal, and enjoy things around your resort. This will leave you refreshed and ready to take on a spook-tacular night of fun!
The key is arriving early, having a plan and knowing that you cannot do everything. Choose what matters most to your family, and enjoy every delightfully spooky minute!
