main street usa shopping and snacking for teens
my teens love to shop and eat their way around the parks. there is a great mix of trendy disney merch that they love to collect and delicious tasty snacks they love to try.
- emporium: the emporium shopping area is a walk through of an array of main street usa stores. it has a massive selection of disney apparel, ears, jewelry, plushes, & bags etc. for all of their teenager needs. items include tees, spirit jerseys, loungefly backpacks, and of course a variety of those classic disney ears and pins.
- the confectionery: the confectionery offers lots of treats teens enjoy like candy apples, fudge, popcorn mixes, bagged candy and so much more.Â
- main street bakery: teens can enjoy starbucks drinks and pastries.
- plaza ice cream parlor: teens love to share, they can enjoy regular sundaes or the mickey’s kitchen sink sundae. the ice cream parlor serves floats and waffle cones too.
- happily ever after: fireworks and projection show nightly at magic kingdom. magic kingdom offers a dining event with happily ever after called the dessert party. make a reservation at tomorrowland’s terrace restaurant to reserve a seat for the show while enjoying delicious desserts.
- price:Â Adult (ages 10 and up): prices range from $99 to $109, tax included. prices vary by date. Child (ages 3 to 9): $59, tax included. theme park admission is required and not included in the price of the event.Â
adventureland attractions & experiences for teens
- swiss family robinson treehouse: climb up into a treehouse adventure by exploring the island the swiss family robinson built after their shipwreck. cross a bridge and climb to the top of the 6 story treehouse (climbing stairs are required, outdoor).
- the jungle cruise: this boat adventure is a cruise through the nile river with hippos, lions, zebras, and crocodiles–animatronics of course.
- height requirement: none–any height.
- low-range intensity: it is a slow cruise along the nile river.Â
- type of attraction: boat ride and can fit multiple people.
- pirates of the caribbean: set sail on a voyage in this dark ride on an adventure through the rough seaport of pirate’s cove. sights, sounds, and music.
- height requirement: none-any height.
- low-range intensity: one small drop at the beginning of the ride but also has canons fired that make a water splash.
- type of attraction: indoor dark ride on a boat log that fits multiple people, 4 to 5 people per row. may get splashed a bit.
- plaza del sol caribe bazaar: is a pirate dream shop of pirate merch located at the exit of the pirates of the caribbean ride.
- play disney parks achievement available for pirates of the caribbean: download the play disney parks app to earn digital achievements for experiencing attractions and entertainment. this is a mobile app that enhances an experience. it’s designed to turn wait times into play time with interactive games, trivia, music, and other features that add a new layer of interactivity and personalization to the park visit.Â
- Â pirate’s adventure–treasure of the seven seas: this is a fun interactive hunt through adventureland in search for hidden treasure. know before you go: no fee to participate, you can start the adventure 30 minutes before park closure, a magicband can be used to pick a talisman, and there are 5 missions (no time limited, but this adventure will take about 20 minutes to complete). this activity is located near the pirate’s of the caribbean attraction at the crow’s nest in adventureland.
- meet and greet: meet aladdin and princess jasmine in adventureland.
- snacking: we all know teens love to snack. adventureland offers some of the best snacks in the magic kingdom park.
- adventureland spring roll cart: just outside the entrance of adventureland is the spring roll cart. you can get two spring rolls for around $9.50. the spring roll cart offers a selection of spring rolls like cheeseburger, ham & cheese, or a pepperoni & cheese.Â
- aloha isle: home to disney’s famous dole whip. teens can enjoy a whip of pineapple, vanilla, or swirl. $5.99 for a cup or $6.99 for a float.
frontierland attractions & experiences for teens
- tiana’s bayou adventure: journey through the bayou on a musical log flume for a mardi gras party with tiana and friends. guests are advised to be prepared to get wet on this ride especially on the 1st & 2nd seat.
- height requirement: 40 inches or taller.
- low-range intensity: this is a slow ride but with a pretty intense 50 foot drop.
- type of attraction: log water ride–indoor/outdoor; each log has 8 rows, 2 people per row.
- big thunder mountain railroad: this is a themed-wild west roller coaster that takes some pretty fun and exciting twist and fast turns.
- height requirement: 40 inches or taller.
- mid-range intensity: it has tight turns, but no big drops and no loops or going upside down.Â
- type of attraction: outdoor roller coaster; 2 to 3 per cart seat. 36 mph–back seat is the best ride!
- captain hook tricks: big thunder mountain railroad is temporarily closed for refurbishment and the construction of magic kingdom’s new lands. it is until 2026.
- golden oak outpost: tiana’s famous beignets are available at the golden oak outpost next to the ride for $6.99.
liberty square attractions & experiences for teens
- the hall of presidents: this indoor show is geared more for teens & adults, but it is a great place to enjoy air-conditioning. this is a show with animatronics of 45 presidents (all ages, indoor, show). this show is approximately 25 minutes.
- captain hook tricks: the hall of presidents will temporarily close for refurbishment on January 20, 2025, and is expected to reopen later in 2025.
- haunted mansion: this is a ghostly buggy dark ride through an enchanted “haunted” mansion of dancing & singing ghost and graveyards.
- height requirement: none–any height.
- low-range intensity: this is a slow ride but considered a dark ride because of its spooky and haunting atmosphere.Â
- type of attraction: indoor buggy dark ride, 2 to 3 people per buggy.
- memento mori: this is the “haunting” shop of madame leota. you can find haunted mansion apparel & accessories, art, gifts etc.
- liberty square market: quick-service location with gaint turkey legs, fresh fruit, mickey pretzels, & hotdogs. get a fanta frozen slushy here too!
- sleepy hollow:Â sleepy hollow serves tasty treats like mickey waffles with nutella & fruits and funnel cakes. get a joffery coffee here as well.
fantasyland attractions & experiences for teens
- cinderella’s castle: cinderella’s castle sits in the middle of the park, straight down main street usa as you enter fantasyland. walk through the castle to get to fantasyand and enjoy views of handcrafted glass mosaics that tell the story of cinderella.
- cinderella’s royal table: if your girls are still into princesses then this is a must dining experience. meet the Disney princesses at this character dining experience (princesses may change). this is a pricey one and will cost you over $60 per adult.
- peter pan’s flight: teens still enjoy this disney classic ride. with a little bit of pixie dust, take a flight over neverland and view glowing volcanoes and sparkling waterfalls.
- height requirement:Â none–any height.
- low-range intensity: soar over neverland in a pirate galleon. holds 2 to 3 people.
- type of attraction: indoor slow ride. hold 2 to 3 people per galleon.
- mickey’s philharmagic: this is such a fun 3D show that takes you on a journey with donald duck through some classic disney movies and songs with special effects (all ages, indoor, show).
- seven dwarfs mine train: this is a family coaster based on snow white and the seven dwarfs. it offers a mixture of interactive elements of games in the queue as you wait to board the mine train.
- height requirement: 38 inches or taller.
- high-range intensity: although smooth and gentle, this ride has some fast turns and larger drops. speed is 34 mph.
- type of attraction: outdoor roller coaster trill ride. holds 2 people per cart seat.
- the barnstormer: this is a good first introduction and kid-friendly roller coaster. it is a perfect match of twists and turns for young thrill seekers.
- height requirement: 35 inches or taller.
- low-range intensity: this coaster has some twist and turns but they are geared for younger kids. reaches 40 mph.
- type of attraction: outdoor roller coaster. 2 people per seat.Â
- mad tea party: this is a fun spin around teacup that might make you a bit dizzy.
- height requirement: none–any height.
- low to high intensity: the rider controls the level of intensity with the wheel in the center of each teacup. you can adjust your speed and the direction of the spin.Â
- type of attraction: each tea cup can fit 3 to 4 guests. outdoor but has a cover over the ride.
- fantasyland shopping for teens: teens can discover apparel, candy, accessories, pins, and ears at fantasy faire, bonjour: village gifts, and big top souvenirs.Â
- cheshire cafe: teens can find sweet treats like pepper jack pretzels and cheshire cattail pastry filled with sweet cream and chocolate chips.
tomorrowland attractions & experiences for teens
- monster inc. laugh floor: this is a interactive comedy show. it is a great show to relax, sit down, and cool off (all ages, indoor show).
- buzz lightyear’s space ranger spin: this is a fun interactive ride of earning points as you spin around and try to defeat evil emperor zurg. as a junior space ranger, you try to hit targets with an infrared laser .
- height requirement: none–any height.
- low-range intensity: spins around so guests can be interactive with the ride.
- type of attraction: indoor interactive cart; 2 guests per cart.
- space mountain: launch into space in a rocket coaster that is out of this world.
- height requirement: 44 inches or taller.
- mid-range intensity: this is a dark coaster ride through the stars with fast turns and big drops.Â
- type of attraction: rocket shaped roller coaster that sits three people in a row one behind the other in the rocket. two different tracks. 27 mph.
- tron lightcycle run: a fast and fun race to the finish on your own lightcycle.
- height requirement: 48 inches or taller.
- high-range intensity: the initial launch on this thrill coaster is the most intense part.Â
- type of attraction: this coaster is a single seat cycle side by side to another one. outdoor at a speed of 59 mph.
- tomorrowland speedway: teens can race to the finish in a on-track race car.
- height requirement: 32 inches or taller.
- low-range intensity: this is a slow ride around a track.
- type of attraction: race car can fit two people. outdoor track.
- tomorrowland launch depot: teens can discover tron inspired apparel and merch.Â
- star traders: a tomorrowland shop with ears, pins and so much more.Â
- auntie gravity galactic goodies: this quick service has so many tasty treats from Churros to ice cream to shakes to sundaes.Â
magic kingdom pixie dust tips for teens
- lightning lane passes: these passes are an additional cost, but are a great way for teens to zoom around the parks and ride their favorite rides.
- single lightning lane: this allows you to bypass the regular standby line for a specific attraction by purchasing a pass. cost of passes depend on the attraction and time of year. you can select only 2 a la carte single passes in advance.
- Â lightning lane multi pass: this allows you to book multiple lightning lane experiences within a park for a set price. you an select up to 3 passes in advance and then select passes within the park once you have used your first pass.Â
- lightning lane purchases: these passes can be purchased 7 days before your park visit.
- early theme park entry: if you are staying at an on-site disney resort, take advantage of the early theme park entry. this allows access to the park 30 minutes prior to the park opening. NOTE: not all rides are available for early park entry, so make sure to check the my disney experience app before heading to your favorite ride.
- rope drop: rope drop is a way to optimize your time in the parks if you can get those teens up early to get to the park right when it opens. If you are staying at an on-site disney resort, you can take advantage of the early theme park entry. This is gives access to the park 30 minutes before it opens and puts you in position to get a jump start to getting to your favorite rights early. Take advantage of this option to avoid long wait times.Â
- the my Disney experience app: download the my Disney experience app on your teen’s phone. I promise you they will be able to help the family navigate the parks in a smooth and timely manner.
- mobile ordering: teens love to mobile order. take advantage of mobile ordering through the my disney experience app. this will help you save time. the app will notify you when your order is ready. we recommend eating before or after the lunch rush hour and placing your lunchtime order in the morning (just select your lunchtime for pickup). this will help avoid those long lunch lines. Â
- collectible medallions: these are special keepsakes found throughout the park with your favorite characters. prices for one is $6.00 (cash only) or 4 for $20.00 (cash, card or tap to pay).

- tron identity program: teens can create an action figure or program that sounds just like them. allow 20 minutes to make selections. once all of your choices have been made, your Program will be ready within 60 minutes. purchases of your program is required at a cost of $89.99. no reservation is needed but payment is due upon arrival but no need to wait on your figure or progam–enjoy the park and pick it up at the end of your day.
- disney’s new starlight nighttime parade: stories come to life for Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio and so much more. this is set to debut in summer 2025.
- parades and fireworks: although teens love parades and fireworks, most of them will love to ride the attractions during this time when wait times are low.
- photo opts: teens love taking pictures. there are great backdrops for photos all around the magic kingdom park.
- mobile merchandise checkout: since teens are tech saavy at many stores around the disney parks, they can use the my disney experience app to scan the barcodes on items and pay via mobile checkout.Â

extra pixie dust tips
- disney’s after hours events: Disney after hours events are an additional ticketed price. this is an event on select dates that Disney will leave a specific park open after park closure hours for an event that allows guests to ride attractions with shorter wait times, and dance and musical activities around the park. check the Disney website for specific dates and details. after hour events usually takes place from 10 pm to 1 am. after hour ticketed guest can enter the park at 7 pm. you do not need a “regular” park ticket for this event. this is a great time to spend the day at Disney springs, your resort pool, or one of the disney water parks instead of using one of your park day tickets.Â
- disney backpacks: teens girls will love to have their own backpack and matching ears. we recommend purchasing loungefly backpacks or other disney backpacks ahead of your visit at a discounted price on Amazon or the loungefly website.
- disney bounding: disney bounding is a way for teens who have a love for Disney characters to dress without wearing what they consider to be “cheesy”. this is done through fashion by dressing up using everyday clothes and accessories that represent their favorite character in trending outfits.
- disney springs outing: there is so much for teens to do at disney springs; shop, dine, and enjoy entertainment in a vibrant, themed shopping and dining area.Â
- water parks: disney offers two great water park experiences, typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach. this is a great break day park to cool off and relax.
- disney resorts: explore themed pools with waterslides, poolside activities, and dining experiences.Â
- fort wilderness: enjoy horseback riding, fishing, biking, or the Segway tour.Â
- miniature golf: Disney has two miniature golf courses that are great for teens,
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf at the Epcot resort area and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf at the animal kingdom resort area. $19 per Adult, $12 per Child (Ages 3–9) (tax not included).
mydisney account: guests 13 and older can create a MyDisney account to manage their profile and make plans.
- supervision: guests under 14 must be accompanied by a person 14 or older to enter theme parks or water parks, and those under 7 must be accompanied by someone 14 or older to board attractions.Â
