Your Parent-Approved Guide to Rides, Shows, Dining & Magical Moments

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the most exciting parks for families. From epic Star Wars adventures to Toy Story playtime to Broadway-style shows, this park blends thrills, nostalgia, and Disney magic all in one place.

Whether you’re visiting with little kids, teens, or a mix of all ages, my parent guide breaks down the best rides, shows, tips, and must-do moments to make your day easy, stress-free, and unforgettable.

Best Rides for Teens & Adults
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (40”+, Indoors)

A motion-simulator with changing storylines. Super fun for teens!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (40”+, Indoors)

A groundbreaking Disney experience. Multi-stage, immersive, and one of the best rides in all of Disney World.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (48”+, Indoors)

High-speed coaster with loops and launches. Scheduled to be re-themed to The Muppets in 2026.

Tower of Terror (40”+, Indoors)

A spooky, thrilling elevator drop ride. If you don’t love heights—skip it.

Fantasmic – The Ultimate Nighttime Show

A must-see! With lights, water screens, fireworks, effects, and classic characters, Fantasmic is one of Hollywood Studios’ best experiences.

Mom Tip:
Arrive early for the best seats and bring glow sticks for the kids.

Best Hollywood Studios Attractions for the Whole Family
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (All Ages, Indoors)

A colorful, trackless ride that pulls you straight into a Mickey cartoon. It’s charming, funny, and perfect for all ages.

Toy Story Mania! (All Ages, Indoors)

A fan-favorite 3D game ride where families compete for the highest score. Always fun—and a little competitive!

Alien Swirling Saucers (32”+, Outdoors)

A gentle spinning ride that keeps kids giggling and adults smiling.

Slinky Dog Dash (38”+, Outdoors)

A smooth family coaster with great views of Toy Story Land. Thrilling but kid-friendly.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (38”+, Indoors)

Take on a mission in the Millennium Falcon! Fun for teens, but skip if you’re prone to motion sickness.

Mom Tip:
Split your group by thrill level. Let older kids ride Slinky Dog while younger ones enjoy Alien Swirling Saucers to avoid long waits.

Live Shows & Interactive Experiences
Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

Hilarious hosts + Frozen songs = a family favorite.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

A newer show that feels fresh, bold, and dramatic.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

Colorful, updated effects and great “Under the Sea” moments.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

A Broadway-style outdoor musical perfect for families.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

Explosions, stunts, and action your kids will talk about all day.

Green Army Drum Corps

High-energy drummers marching through Toy Story Land.

  • Mom Tip:
Plan these shows between major rides to rest, recharge, and snack.
My Top Mom Picks for Hollywood Studios
Slinky Dog Dash First Thing in the Morning

The line gets long fast, so riding it early is the easiest way to start the day with happy kids and excited teens.

Frozen Sing-Along for an Air-Conditioned Break

Hilarious hosts, great music, cool air, and guaranteed laughs. It’s my favorite “family reset” in the middle of the day.

Mobile Ordering Lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box

The grilled cheese and tater tots are kid-approved, quick, and budget-friendly. Ordering ahead saves tons of time.

Indiana Jones Stunt Show for Afternoon Energy

My husband and son never skip this one and it gives me a chance to sit, rest, and cool off while still enjoying the action.

Jollywood Nights (Seasonal Event)

If you’re visiting during the holidays, Hollywood Studios hosts Jollywood Nights, a special-ticket Christmas event filled with stylish holiday entertainment, rare character meet-and-greets, exclusive shows, limited-time treats, and lower wait times for select rides. It’s a fun option for families with older kids and teens who love nighttime events and festive vibes. Just remember that this event is not included with regular park admission and only runs on select nights.

Our Favorite Family Snacking Experiences at Hollywood Studios

Here are the snack stops we never skip:

  • The Giant Pink Donut (Trolley Car Café)

    • Yes, it’s huge. Yes, we share it. And yes, my kids think it’s the best breakfast in the world. Perfect for grabbing on the walk toward Toy Story Land.
  • Blue Milk in Galaxy’s Edge
    • This one is always a must-do. It’s cold, colorful, and fun and my teens love posting it on Instagram. We always grab one blue and one green so we can taste-test both.
  • Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box
    • If my kids are getting hungry, but not ready for a full meal, totchos do the trick. They’re filling, sharable, and easy to eat.
  • Mickey Ice Cream Bars
    • We grab Mickey bars while we wait for shows, especially on hot days.
  • Soft Pretzels from the Market Stands
    • This is my go-to “everyone share this while we walk” snack. Warm, salty, perfect.
  • Lunch Box Tart (Woody’s Lunch Box)
    • These homemade Pop-Tart-style treats are a fun, sweet pick-me-up.

Mom Tip:

Snacks are cheaper than full meals, and splitting a few throughout the day keeps everyone full and saves money.

New Lands Coming to Hollywood Studios and Why This Mom Is Excited!

Disney is always dreaming up something new, and right now there are some big changes being talked about for Hollywood Studios. Nothing is fully finished yet, but as a mom who loves planning ahead, I like knowing what might be coming so we can all look forward to it together.

 Monster’s Inc. Land (In Development)

Disney has teased a brand-new Monsters Inc.–themed area, and my whole family is already excited about this one. My kids grew up laughing at Mike and Sulley.
If this land becomes what Disney is hinting at, we may get:

  • Fun, hanging coaster

  • Adorable meet-and-greets

  • Playful, colorful theming perfect for photos

It’s still in the works, but it’s definitely one of the most talked-about additions we are watching.

New Entertainment & Character Spots

Along with the bigger projects, Disney is rolling out new character meet-and-greet ideas and performance spaces in animation courtyard.

Refurbishments & Changes at Hollywood Studios (Mom’s Quick Update)

Disney is always updating things, which is great… but as a mom planning a whole day around rides, shows, and snack breaks, I like to know what’s actually open before we arrive. Here’s the latest on what’s changing at Hollywood Studios—straight from one mom who hates surprises in the middle of a park day.

 Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Re-Theme (Coming 2026)

This coaster is getting a full makeover and will eventually reopen with a The Muppets theme! My teens love the thrill, so we’re all excited, but we are going to miss the original ride!

 Show Refreshes & Seasonal Changes

Some shows rotate or get seasonal updates, especially anything involving holidays. So if your little ones have their hearts set on something specific (like Beauty and the Beast or Frozen Sing-Along), it never hurts to peek at the daily schedule. The Frozen-holiday sing-along has some extra speical surprises.

Mom-to-Mom Tip:

Disney updates are a lot sometimes, but planning around them really does make your day smoother. I check the app the night before and again in the morning so I know what’s closed, what’s being refurbed, and what’s running normally. It saves so much time in the parks.
