disney world’s moderate resorts are a collection of 4 resorts that offer the unique balance of comfort, themes, prices, and a magical disney experience. disney’s moderate resorts offer a fantastic middle ground for guests who are looking for a little bit more magic than what the value resorts offer without breaking the bank. 

with larger rooms, more dining options, and additional recreational activities, these resorts create a relaxing atmosphere for families to enjoy. explore disney’s moderate resorts with a mix of adventure, value, and convenience.

 

port orleans french quarter resort
  • port orleans french quarter: port orleans french quarter is the smallest of the moderate resorts located near the epcot, hollywood studios, and disney springs area. if you are looking for a quiet get away than the port orleans french quarter might be the right fit for your family. it’s relaxing atmosphere is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the disney parks.
    • transportation: unlike the other moderate resorts, the port orleans french quarter has one bus stop right outside the main port orleans square building. because it is a smaller resort it makes it convenient for guests to board the complimentary bus service by walking to the main building. complimentary bus service is provided to the disney parks, water parks, and disney springs. NOTE: there is no internal bus loop in the resort so you will have to walk to the main building to catch the park buses. 
    • bus wait times: to find bus wait times select the resort hotel tile in the my disney experience app. 
    • water transportation: port orleans offers water transportation to disney springs.
    • themed: at port orleans french quarter guests are transported into the heart of new orleans. from vibrant mardi gras colors, to cobblestone streets, to jazz, and new orlean’s style balconies.  it’s rooms have plenty of charm with touches of art, beads, and iron headboards.
    • standard rooms: rooms are 314 sq ft (a bit larger than value resorts) and accommodate 4 guests. rooms types are 1 king bed or 2 queen beds. room have features like separate sink area (2 sinks) & bathroom, mini-fridge, and large flat-screen tv, mirror, ceiling fan, luggage rack, nightstand, armoire, & closet area. port orleans french quarter does not have preferred rooms, but has a variety of room options, including pool view, river view, and woods view. 
    • amenities: online check-in, front lobby, food courts, playgrounds, pool, laundry service, & activities like cajun campfires, movies under the stars, bike & surrey bike rentals. 
    • dining: quick service options offer cajun and creole favors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. this includes for breakfast; eggs, waffles, potatoes, & breakfast sandwiches; lunch & dinner, hamburgers, pizza, subs, po’boys, gumbo, jambalaya,  seafood, salads, & soups. also get a taste of their famous beingets and cajun fries. there are two bar service lounges with adult beverages and a new orleans flair.
    • prices: prices range from $268 to $360 a night depending on the time of year you visit.
    • captain hook tricks: there is no sit-down restaurant with table service.

  • port orleans resort-riverside: port orleans riverside is a larger moderate resort located near the epcot, hollywood studios, and disney springs area. it is located next to the port Orleans french quarter resort. It is a beautiful resort modeled with southern charm and a lazy bayou feel.
    • transportation: because the grounds of this resort are a bit larger, it has an internal bus loop system to transport guests around the resort. the internal bus loop runs clockwise around the property making stops at the south depot (near the main building), west depot, north depot, and east depot, allowing guests to access all areas of the resort. the bus stop access to the theme parks, water parks, & disney springs is located at the front of the resort at the south depot.  
    • bus wait times: to find bus wait times select the resort hotel tile in the my disney experience app. NOTE: plan ahead for wait time increases if you plan to utilize the internal bus loop.
    • water transportation: port orleans offers water transportation to disney springs.
    • themed: port orleans riverside is themed after the southern hospitality of louisiana. its building and grounds have the rustic feel of large plantations and antebellum homes. 
    • standard rooms: rooms are 314 sq ft (a bit larger than value resorts) and accommodate 4 guests. rooms types are 1 king bed or 2 queen beds. some rooms offer a 5th sleeper with a child pull down bed. rooms have features like separate sink area (2 sinks) & bathroom, mini-fridge, and large flat-screen tv, mirror, luggage rack, nightstand, dresser, & closet area. preferred rooms include two queen beds & one child pull down sleeper. some options for preferred rooms include courtyard, garden & bayou view and is close to dining, shopping, and transportation.
    • amenities: online check-in, front lobby, food courts, playgrounds, pool, laundry service, & activities like campfires on de’bayou, movies under the stars, bike & surrey bike rentals, fishing, jogging trails, arcades, & horse drawn carriage rides. 
    • dining: quick service option is offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. this includes for breakfast; eggs, waffles, & breakfast sandwiches; lunch & dinner, hamburgers, pizza, subs, po’boys, salads, & soups. there are two bar service lounges with adult beverages and one sit-down restaurant for dinner at boatwright’s dining hall. guests can enjoy entrees like chicken, shrimp & grits, red beans & rice, jambalaya, seafood boil, okra & kids meals of course. dining reservations required at boatwright hall.
    • prices: prices range from $247 to $331 a night depending on the time of year you visit.
    • captain hook tricks: From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, Guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area.
caribbean beach resort
  • caribbean beach resort: caribbean beach resort is in the epcot resort area near pop century and art of animation. it is the hub of the skyliner. it is a huge resort which makes a walk to the front of the resort a bit of a trek–around a 12 minute walk depending on the location of your room.
    • transportation:  the caribbean beach resort has an internal bus service called “the shuttle”. it has multiple bus stops, including one in the disney skyliner station. the internal shuttles pick-up guests and take them between the villages and old port royale. complimentary bus service is provided to the disney parks, water parks, and disney springs.  
    • bus wait times: to find bus wait times select the resort hotel tile in the my disney experience app. NOTE: plan ahead for wait time increases if you plan to utilize the internal bus shuttle.
    • skyliner: caribbean beach resort is the hub of the skyliner system. guests can board the skyliner to visit both epcot and hollywood studios. since it is the hub, this means that connections from other resorts to the parks are made at the caribbean skyliner station (pop century & art of animation). this can make boarding the skyliner a bit congested.
    • themed:  the caribbean beach is themed after a tropical atmosphere of bright colors, palm trees, and a relax & kick-back experience. refurbished rooms have a cool colorful caribbean vibe.
    • standard rooms: rooms are 340 sq ft (a bit larger than value resorts and port orleans resorts) and accommodate 4 guests. rooms have recently been refurbished. rooms types are 1 king bed or 2 queen beds. some rooms have a 5th child pull down sleeper. rooms have features like separate sink area (2 sinks) & bathroom, mini-fridge, and large flat-screen tv, mirror, luggage rack, nightstand, dresser, & closet area. preferred rooms include two queen beds & one child pull down sleeper. some options for preferred rooms include courtyard, woodlands & pool views and is close to dining, shopping, and transportation.
    • amenities: online check-in, front lobby, food courts, playgrounds, pool, laundry service, & activities like campfires, movies under the stars, jogging trails (1.2 miles), fishing, & volleyball.
    • dining: quick service options offer caribbean flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. this includes for breakfast; eggs, waffles, & breakfast sandwiches; lunch & dinner, hamburgers, pizza, subs, tacos, salads, & soups. there is bar service with adult beverages and one sit-down restaurant for dinner. sebastian’s bistro offers latin cuisine like seafood and chicken. reservations are required at sebastian’s bistro.
    • prices: prices range from $274 to $400 a night depending on the time of year you visit.
    • captain hook tricks:
      •  since this resort is only two stories there are no elevators.
      • From February 17 to April 30, 2025, the lobby in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will undergo refurbishment. While the lobby will stay open and all amenities will remain available, Guests may hear or see construction during daytime hours.
      • Beginning March 24, 2025, Sebastian’s Bistro will be closed for refurbishment. It’s expected to reopen at the end of March. Guests may see and hear construction in the area until work is completed. While the restaurant is closed, enjoy the many other dining options.
coronado springs resort
  • coronado springs resort: coronado springs resort is designed with a flair of the american southwest and mexican culture and is located in the animal kingdom resort area.
    • transportation: coronado springs has an internal bus system. it allows guests to travel between different sections of the resort. there are three internal bus stops  called “neighborhoods” near the casitas, ranchos, and cabanas buildings. the main bus stop is located outside the main entrance of gran destino tower.this bus stop provides guests complimentary bus service to the disney parks, water parks, and disney springs. there is no skyliner or water taxi transportation like the other moderate resorts. 
    • bus wait times: to find bus wait times select the resort hotel tile in the my disney experience app. NOTE: plan ahead for wait time increases if you plan to utilize the internal bus shuttle.
    • themed:  the coronado springs resort is decorated with warm earthy tones. it has spanish pubelo-style villas &  buildings and a resort central lake.
    • standard rooms: standard rooms are 314 sq ft (a bit larger than value resorts) and accommodate 4 guests. rooms have recently been renovated to accommodate modern touches. rooms types are 1 king bed or 2 queen beds.  rooms have features like separate sink area (2 sinks) & bathroom, mini-fridge, and large flat-screen tv, mirror, luggage rack, nightstand, dresser, & closet area. preferred rooms include 2 queen beds or 1 king bed some options for preferred rooms include courtyard, pool, and lake views and is close to dining, shopping, and transportation.
    • suites: oronado springs offers 1 bedroom king suites with 1 king bed and 1 queen sleeper sofa (accommodates 4 guests) or 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds and 1 queen sleeper sofa (accommodates 6 guests).
    • amenities: online check-in, front lobby, food courts, playgrounds, pool, laundry service, & activities like campfires, movies under the stars, jogging trails, volleyball, art, & painting.
    • dining: quick service options offer southwest flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. this includes for breakfast; eggs, waffles, & breakfast sandwiches; lunch & dinner, hamburgers, pizza, subs, tacos, salads, & soups. there are bar service lounges with adult beverages and one sit-down restaurant for dinner. toledo-tapas, steak, & seafood is a unique roof top experience. entrees include, chicken, steak, and seafood. reservations are required at toledo.
    • prices: prices range from $300 to $400 a night depending on the time of year you visit.
    • captain hook tricks: the resort is fairly large and can be a 15 minute walk depending on what area of the resort you stay in.

  • better room options: better room options and more space.
  • more transportation options: moderate resorts offer complimentary transportation to all of the disney theme parks, water parks, and disney springs, including buses and the skyliner service from caribbean beach resort, & water taxi from port orleans.
  • more dining options: moderate resorts offer a variety of food options from a food court, bar service, and one sit down dining restaurant. access to mobile ordering through the my disney experience app.
  •   staying at a moderate resort: staying at a disney moderate resort means the full disney experience like early theme park entry, advanced dining, & lightning lane reservations.
