Yes– It’s Official: Disney Reveals the New Monsters, Inc. Land Concept Art!

Disney has been busy and moving quickly with the development of new, inspired lands across its parks—including Hollywood Studios. Construction walls have officially gone up, unveiling plans for the upcoming Monsters, Inc.–themed land: Monstropolis.
While it’s true that we’ll be saying goodbye to a fan favorite, Muppet*Vision 3D and the beloved Muppet Courtyard, Disney is clearly making strides toward modernizing and updating the parks.
Of course, the focus is shifting toward more thrilling, interactive experiences that reflect the ever changing expectations and innovations park-goers are eager to see.

This exciting new land promises endless laughs, bringing your favorite monsters to life in an interactive, laughter-powered city. The concept centers around the first-ever visit of humans to Monstropolis, highlighting the dynamics between monsters and humans.
Structures Remain Intact
Based on the newly released concept art, much of the existing structure appears to remain unchanged, with buildings like Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo still intact. However, Disney has yet to reveal what will occupy the space. That said, we can only imagine it will feature the kind of innovative attractions or shows that only Disney can deliver!
Fountain Will Remain in the New Land
It appears that the fountain will also remain in place; meanwhile, we probably can expect a new Monster’s Inc. figurehead to debut as Miss Piggy and the Muppets transition to the reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. Additionally, the original playground addition seems to still be included in the newly updated concept art.
Although not much has been revealed in terms of attractions and shows, Disney has offered one exciting teaser of what to expect in the new land—and yes, you guessed it—a trackless roller coaster!

The new concept art reveals a brand-new structure that will house the roller coaster. This ride will be the first of its kind in the parks. It features a suspended design and a thrilling vertical lift.
The ride will feature rotating carts to enhance the experience. Guests will join Mike and Sully on a monstrous adventure!

Disney has not announced an official opening date for the new Monster’s Inc.-themed land. But one thing is for sure, we’re excited for the adventures that await us in the parks.
